Illustrated with a folding map to the rear, and with a small number of vignette illustrations.This very scarce work was published as a supplementary third volume to the author's two volume work 'Traditions of Edinburgh', while also serving as a standalone work.Including short passages describing Edinburgh authored between 1255 and 1829, and with descriptions of seventy-seven 'Minor Antiquities', from an ancient tolbooth to the site of a Lothian hut.Also titled 'Reekiana', this copy is lacking the half title.With the former owner's inscription of John Acton to the title page head. In a half calf binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Minor rubbing to joints, otherwise externally lovely. Hinges strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound.
