A brief anti-Catholic treatise in which nine strongly worded arguments against the doctrine of transubstantiation are offered, ranging from 'in holy scripture there is no such thing taught' to it being 'the direct cause of damnable idolatry&apos.The anonymous author concludes his work with four pages of quotes against the doctrine from Jacques Pineton Chambrun's 'Les Larmes de Jacques Pineton de Chambrun', translated into English.With a tipped in leaf prior to the start of the text denounces the 'Papists' and 'Infidels', and remarks that 'Old England's Church gloried in the Cross of Christ&apos.A very scarce insight into anti-Catholic sentiments in England in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century.
