This fascinating and informative work was written by Walter G Ivens. Ivens was a missionary who published several books on the culture and language of Malaita Island. This work looks at the people of Mala and explores their religion and how they construct their Islands. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with fading to the spine, the odd mark and light bumping resulting in minor loss to the cloth at the head of the spine. Very light offsetting to the rear end papers. Internally generally firmly bound with plate to page 64 weak. Generally clean and bright pages with light spotting to the front. Frontispiece detached but present.
