The collected poems of Thomas Gray, English poet known for his 1751 Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard. This work is comprised of many poems, including Ode on the Spring, The Triumphs of Owen and the Hymn to Adversity. Containing Gray's original poems as well as translations into English and Latin verse of the works of Petrarca, from the Anthologia Græca, and others. Featuring a frontispiece portrait of the author as well as decorative initials, head and tail pieces, and other full page plates of engravings of charming landscapes. In full calf prize winner binding. Externally, very smart, with light bumping and rubbing to the extremities. The odd mark to boards. Slight wear to the head of the spine and the rear of the board.
