This is a first edition of the work in original publisher's blue cloth binding with the unclipped dust wrapper.The Bulldog Drummond collection is a series of novels featuring the character Hugh 'Bulldog' Drummond. They were originated by Herman Cyril McNeile, a British soldier and author who wrote under the pseudonym 'Sapper' due to the fact that serving officers in the British Army were not allowed to publish under their own name. Gerard Fairlie was an English writer and scriptwriter, on whom McNeile supposedly based Bulldog Drummond. After McNeiles death in 1937, Fairlie continued the Bulldog Drummond series. Drummond is a First World War veteran looking for adventure and excitement. In this particular work, Drummond prepares to encounter his lifelong enemy, Irma Peterson after he notices some strange goings-on at his local Club. In original publisher's blue cloth binding, with the unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart, with light bumping to the extremities and the odd mark to boards. Light age toning and the occasional mark to endpapers. Dust wrapper in good condition, with chipping to the extremities and the odd tear. Loss to the wrap on the front board, as well as slight loss to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Slight sunning to the wrap and the odd mark, mainly to the reverse.
