Written by John Davis, a British verger of the Wells cathedral. In the original half red crushed morocco with patterned boards. Externally, worn with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Marks to the boards. Front board held by cords only with sympathetic repairs made using tape. Rear joint tender but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound.
