Alain Jouffroy (1928-2015) was a French writer and art critic of the Surrealist movement, whose work was influential to avant-garde art. This is a collection of his poetry, with illustrations by Romanian artist Victor Brauner (1903-1966), who was also part of the Surrealist movement. In the publisher's original card wraps, with a glassine wrapper. Externally very bright, with a little bumping to the extremities. Glassine wrapper is faintly stained to the rear of the wrap, with chipping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
