Written by Alexander Joseph Finberg, an art historian who specialised in the history of British art. He also founded the Walpole Society and is considered an expert on Turner. Bound in quarter calf with patterned boards. Front board of original grey paper wraps bound in. Externally, sound with rubbing and minor loss to the extremities. Fading to the spine and marks to the boards. Library label to the tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light spotting to the odd plate.
