This work is in original publisher's cloth binding, with an original, price-clipped dust wrapper. First edition of the work. An effective collection of posters by Fougasse, covering the period of the Second World War. With an introduction by Sir Alan Patrick Herbert, who was an independent Member of Parliament during the time of publishing. Fougasse was the pen-name of British cartoonist Cyril Kenneth Bird CBE. Fougasse was arguably best known for his poster series during the Second World war entitled Careless Talk Costs Lives, which are included in the work. In publisher's original yellow cloth binding, with price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally generally smart with slight rubbing, mainly to extremities. Fading to edge of the boards and to the spine. Slight wear to boards with the occasional mark. Age toning and offsetting to endpapers. Dust wrapper has tide marks, mainly to front near spine. Age toning to dust wrapper with slight sunning. Some edgewear with the occasional closed tear, mainly at the top fore edge of dust wrapper. Light offsetting to inside dust wrapper. The occasional mark to dust wrapper. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the occasional handling mark. Very Good . Ill.: Fougasse. Very Good/Good.
