Found institutionally in eight libraries only including the British Library and Leeds Libraries among others.Biography of the life, letters and friends of Vice-Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy, 1st Baronet by A M Broadley and R G Bartelot. Hardy was a British Royal Navy officer who served as flag captain to Admiral Lord Nelson, and commanded HMS 'Victory' at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 during the Napoleonic Wars. Nelson's famous remark of "Kiss me, Hardy" as he lay dying was directed at him. He later became First Naval Lord. Illustrated with frontispiece as well as twenty-four full page plates, and two illustrations in text. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally with shelf wear, bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities, back strip faded. Half title and frontispiece loose but present. Ex libris bookplate signed by previous owner to front pastedown dated 25.ii.52. Internally, binding generally firm. Odd light spotting to occasional leaf, particularly leaves of plates.
