This work was first published in 1900, when the British believed that the war had finished; however, the war continued until 1902, meaning that this work had to be constantly revised. Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930) is best known as the creator of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. 12 pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally fairly smart, though faded to the spine and bumped to the extremities. Mark to the upper extremity of the front board. Closed tear to the head of the spine, causing the cloth to lift. Small loss to the cloth to the tail of the spine. Both hinges are strained but are still reasonably firm. Internally, firmly bound.
