A collection of poetry from ancient Italian poets, from the series Parnaso Italiano edited by Andrea Rubbi (1738-1817). Rubbi was an Italian scholar who compiled many poetry collections. To the rear of the volume, he included brief biographical notes on each poet included in the volume. Poets included, among others, are Dante Alighieri (1265-1321), Lorenzo de' Medici (1449-1492), and Angelo Poliziano or Angelo Ambrogini (1454-1494). In a half calf binding. Externally fairly smart, with shelf wear to the boards and a little rubbing to the joints and extremities. Internally, firmly bound.
