Translated by Sir John Bowing, a British political economist, traveller, writer, translator, and the fourth Governor of Hong Kong known for the Bowring Treaty of Siam. Illustrated by George Cruikshank, a British caricaturist and book illustrator. Previously held in the library of John Lewis F.S.I.A. an English printer, illustrator and collector. Bound in quarter straight grained morocco with cloth boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board.
