Description: Amsterdam, François Changuion, 1750-1755. Unbound. A very scarce three-volume set of poetry on different subjects by Georg Ludwig von Bar, written in French. A three volume set, unbound but intact. In the first two volumes, Georg Ludwig von Bar (1701-1767) anonymously wrote letters in the form of poetry, in praise of the printer Pierre Marteau (also known as Peter Hammer); the character Sancho Pança from the novel Don Quixote; characters from Molière's plays; and many others. The third volume contains poems by him with subject matters of a broader nature, including 'L'Homme sans Religion', 'Sur l'Histoire Litteraire', 'Sur l'Amour', among others. The third volume of this set is a very scarce work, making this set an unusual find. Unbound but intact.
