In this letter, an anonymous writer thanks the English Presbyterian minister Benjamin Bennet for his rebuke of Zachary Grey's work Presbyterian Prejudice Display'd. Building on a sermon preached on George I's coronation, Bennet published A Memorial of the Reformation in 1717. The work provided a Protestant view of the Reformation, and preserved anecdotes from original sources that had not been found elsewhere, such as of Judge Jeffreys's visit to Newcastle in 1683. Zachery Grey, an English priest, controversialist, and conservative spokesman for the Church of England then attempted to smear Bennet's narrative with his work Presbyterian Prejudice Display'd, in which he attempts to clear up 'mistaken historical facts' and re-establish 'the characters of several worthy members of the Church of England&apos. Unbound, with the majority of the calf remaining the spine. Externally, generally smart. The outer pages are a little age-toned, with a small tear at the front joint near the tail.
