A first edition of this scarce Dutch travelogue on the Italian alps and other Italian mountainscapes. Published in Dutch. A prolific and popular writer, Gerard Keller's output included novels, short stories, travelogues, and art history. In this heavily illustrated volume, Keller offers a description and a historical sketch of various spots in the Italian alps including Mount Cenis, Lake Maggiore, and San Morino. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of he front endpaper, 'K.Neys&apos. In a quarter cloth binding over hard boards. Externally, sound. Rubbed to the boards and spine. The joints are rather rubbed, with a split in the cloth at the centre of the front joint and three small chips in the cloth to the rear joint. Bumped to the head and tail of the spine, with a little cloth missing to each. The extremities are also rather bumped. The front hinge is starting, and is a little tender. Internally, generally firmly bound, except for the first few pages which are loose. Pages are generally bright and clean. Good . Ill.: Not stated. Good .
