The first work in the collection is Memoires et Lettres de Mademoiselle de Lenclos by Antoine Bret. Bret was a prolific eighteenth century writer, practicing across a broad range of genres. This is followed Les Deux Bavardes by Mercure Galand, Octave Mirbeau's play about a worker's strike, and finally, Eduoard Pailleron's best known and highly successful play Le Monde Ou l'On S'ennuie.
