Prior owner's bookplate to the front paste down. From the Library of Cirey, a château where Émilie du Châtelet lived with Voltaire between 1734 to 1749. No publisher or place of publication stated. In a full mottled calf binding. Externally, lightly rubbed to the boards and the spine, with some moderate bumping to the extremities. There is a crack to the front joint of volume I, and volume II is more rubbed to the head of the spine. With a chip in the spine label to volume IV. The front hinge of volumes I and II are starting, but firm, and the rear hinge of volume II is also starting, but firm. Internally, firmly bound.
