These two extracts from the early nineteenth century provide insight into the financial decisions of Nicholas Vansittart, 1st Baron Bexley, who was the one of the longest-serving Chancellors of the Exchequer in British history. The text opens with a transcription of the speech Vansittart delivered to the house of Commons in 1809 regarding thirty eight financial resolutions, which all passed without opposition. The final fourteen pages are comprised of a report published on June 7th 1809 discussing the questions including the amount exchequer bills fund present sessions of parliament, and the duties granted the King during the Peninsula war. The final lines to page 9 have been sliced halfway through. No author given for either extract. Disbound. Externally, generally smart. Internally, firmly bound.
