An attractive copy of François Pierre Guillaume Guizot's account of the seventeenth century English Revolution which resulted in the establishment of a constitutional monarchy. Published in French. The historian, orator, and statement was a dominant figure in French politics prior to the Revolution of 1848. Following the July Revolution of 1830 Guizot worked to sustain the constitutional monarchy, before serving as the Minister of Education in the under Louis Phillipe where he succeeded in setting up primary schools in every French commune. He served as Prime Minister from 1847 until the 1848 Revolution, and is even mentioned in the famous opening paragraph of the Communist Manifesto as a representative of the reactionary forces of Old Europe. A little bumped to the extremities. The rear hinge is starting, but firm. Internally, firmly bound.
