A two volume French-English and English-French dictionary compiled by lexicographer Abel Boyer. Best known for this reference work originally published in 1699, the dictionary has been the basis of many subsequence French-English dictionaries. The fifteenth edition includes accents of both English an French words to facilitate pronunciation, as well as new maritime words, and an alphabetical table of English particles. In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Lightly rubbed to the boards, a little more so to the spine. There is a chip at the spine label of volume I. Lightly worn to the head of the spine, more so to the tail. Volume II is missing a tiny bit of calf to the tail of the spine. A little bumped at the extremities. The rear hinge is starting, but firm to volume II. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned but generally clean throughout. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
