The final leaf only of a correspondence from the English engraver, with no indication as to who he is addressing.With writing on one side of the folded leaf only, Doo explains his hopes to reward the individual he is communicating with, and closes the letter 'with our kind wishes&apos.Taught by engraver and publisher Charles Heath, Doo was appointed to the role of Engraver in Ordinary to William IV, and later to Queen Victoria. He is best known for his famous engraving 'The Combat', based upon William Etty's 1825 painting. Doo became a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1851, and was made a Royal Academician in 1857.
