In this novel, an elderly gentleman editing a memoir discovers that Harry Tristram may be an illegitimate child. Prior owner's pencil inscription to the front pastedown, 'R. Chamberlain&apos. In the publisher's original green cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Lightly rubbed to the boards, more so to the spine which is discoloured. The spine is missing a little cloth to the head and at the rear joint. There is a small tear in the cloth at the rear joint to the tail, which is bumped. A little bumped to the extremities.
