The Popish Plot was a fictitious conspiracy formed by Titus Oates, in which he alleges that there was a Catholic conspiracy to assassinate Charles II. This led to a fraught anti-Catholic hysteria in England and Scotland. At least 22 men were executed on Oates' accusations. Unbound, as issued. Internally, firmly bound.
