Illustrated with five colour plates by Charles Robinson (1870–1937), who was a successful book illustrator, particularly of children's books. This story of Prince Ahmed and the Fairy Perie Banou is originally from the One Thousand and One Nights, also known as the Arabian Nights. A story full of magic, it follows Prince Ahmed on his adventures. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally sound, though faded with shelf wear to the extremities. Hinges are strained but held reasonably firmly by cords. Front free end paper and half title page are detached, first blank page and frontispiece are coming loose; however, the rest of the pages are firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean except for the occasional scattering of spots and the odd handling mark. Good . Ill.: Charles Robinson. Good .
