Collated, complete.The first edition of this very scarce work, published as a response to Baron John Somers' 1680 pamphlet supporting the Exclusion Bill, which sought to exclude James, Duke of York from the throne due to his Catholicism.Brady, an academic, historian and avowed royalist mounts an argument against the Exclusion Bill, and defends the rights of Charles II and James II to the throne. Unbound, as issued. Light tide mark to tail of title page. Light ink number to head of title page , and each leaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with light tide marks to fore edges of leaves, and the odd handling mark. Instances of spotting throughout, most concentrated to the first half of the work.
