The first edition of this work in the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Ink inscription to the front free end paper. Reginald Herbert, 15th Earl of Pembroke and 12th Earl of Montgomery (1880-1960) was a British peer. This is his anecdotes of horse-racing, from the mid 19th century to the early 20th century, illustrated with many in-text engravings and colour plates. A colour portrait of the author has been pasted to the frontispiece. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally smart, with just some faint marks to the boards and shelf wear to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
