Gettmann. Illustrated with three monochrome plates. The first impression of this work. Herbert George Wells was a popular and prolific writer, and remembered as the father of science fiction. This collection of letters and correspondence between Wells and Gissing, a fellow English novelist, and Henry James, American-British author and literary realist/modernist, reveals much about the author, including his personality and private life.  In the original publisher's cloth bindings and unclipped dust wrappers. Externally, very smart. There is some light bumping to the heads and tails of the spines and to the extremities. The dust wrappers are slightly creased to the extremities, and the spines are sunned. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the very occasional spot. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: Not Stated. Very Good Indeed/Very Good Indeed.
