The confederation was originally formed for military and trade purposes, but is now ceremonial. It refers to the 'five harbours', being Hastings, New Romney, Hythe, Dover, and Sandwich. Illustrated with fourteen photogravure plates and nineteen in-text illustrations by William Hyde. Collated, complete.
