With Hearne's preface and appendix to the former edition.Edited by antiquarian Thomas Hearne, English diarist and antiquary remembered for his published editions of medieval English chronicles and other important historical texts. Containing a series of essays discussing English antiquities including the laws of England, the economy, history, etymology of terms, titles, and much more. With Henry Hunter, Esq's armorial bookplates to front pastedowns. Inscribed to title page vol. I 'Act on't, says Time to Thos Hearne! Whatever I forget you learn.' Rebacked and rebound in full calf with titles and details in gilt to spine, renewed plain endpapers.
