A comprehensive guide to the English garden with reference to sustenance, the age of symmetry, the return to nature, and features and follies. Written by Ralph Dutton, the 8th and last Baron Sherborne who created the gardens at Hinton Ampner near Alresford in Hampshire, England, and on his death left the house and garden to the National Trust. It is now open to the public. Illustrated by Will F. Taylor, a Canadian artist, lithographer, and illustrator. With thirty-two pages of selected titles from the publisher to the rear. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and minor rubbing to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is worn with chipping to the extremities and significant loss and a few closed tears. Rear board has detached from spine cover. Internally, firmly bound.
