A lovely illustrated study of Holland for travel and of its history. Nico Jungman was an Anglo-Dutch painter, book-illustrator and decorator, best known for his landscapes. He illustrated three topographical books including this work and 'Norway' and 'Normandy' (1905). The text was written by his wife, Beatrix.With seventy five colour plates listed, this work is incomplete. The plates facing pages 8, 118, and 200 are missing. The plates facing pages 184 and 136 are detached, and the plate facing page 134 is detached and has been cut out with only the figure remaining. Collated. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, very smart. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. The hinges are strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. The plates are incomplete. Very Good . Ill.: Nico Jungman. Very Good .
