Cyril Flower, the 1st Baron Battersea, was a Liberal politician and noted patron of the arts. He was a patron of James McNeill Whistler, and was involved with the Pre-Raphaelites. In a half calf binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, the front hinge is weak and the board may detach even with careful handling. Rubbing to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the extremities. Only a few light marks to the boards. A small amount of loss to the head of the spine. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound.
