Author: Agatha Christie Title: Hercule Poirot&Apos;S Christmas
Description: London, Collins, The Crime Club, 1940. Cloth. A scarce early edition of Christie's festive thriller, featuring her much loved Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot. The third impression. First published in December 1938. Scarce in any early edition. A gripping Hercule Poirot novel by Agatha Christie which is set across the entire festive period. This novel follows the events of Simeon Lee's family as they gather for Christmas. Lee, an elderly multi-millionaire, is not on good terms with his family and therefore they find the gathering to be suspicious from the outset. Simeon is later found murdered in his room, and Poirot is recruited to solve the mystery. This is the first of several Christmas themed works written by Christie. A short story collection 'The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding' was published much later in 1960. A smart early edition of this increasingly scarce classic Christie novel. In the original publisher's orange cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with rubbing to the extremities, resulting in some slight loss to the cloth. Marks to the boards. Front hinge slightly strained but firm. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting, slightly heavier to the first and last few pages and the fore edge. Tape repair to front free endpaper and half title. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
