The very scarce large paper edition. Inigo Jones was the first significant architect in England and Wales in the early modern period and the first to employ Vitruvian  rules of proportion and symmetry in his buildings. This volume is a facsimile reprint of the first edition of this work, published in 1727 and consists of plans and elevaions for public and private buildings being the first and second volume within one. With 73 plates to the first volume and 63 to the second, many of which are folding plates. The last plate of volume two is slightly stuck to the blinding and wont open, with a small tear. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, lovely with some light marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
