This is a first edition copy, published in 1950. Volume IV, The Hinge of Fate, considers how the power of the grand alliance became preponderant. With thirty-three maps and diagrams and four folding maps. This is a first edition copy published in 1951.Volume V, Closing the Ring, covers the decisive twelve months between June 1943 and June 1944. With eighteen maps and diagrams and three folding maps. All are in the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, all are generally very smart with some light marks to the boards and spines and some light bumping to the heads of the spines. With two sets of rear endpapers to vol. ii. Internally, all are firmly bound with bright and clean pages. All are in the original dust wrappers, volumes i and iv are clipped and the others are unclipped. The dust wrappers are faded to the spines and chipped to the head and tails of the spines, especially to volume i , there is some fading to the wraps also.
