He was a pioneer of the lost world literary genre. In this non-fiction work, Haggard documents his travels around the world with lovely illustrations. This is an early edition and reissue of this work, first published in 1901. Illustrated with twenty three monochrome plates including a frontispiece. Collated, complete.  In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is a small chip to the top of the front board. The spine is faded. The boards have some light marks. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright with some light spotting. Good .
