Francis Jeffrey - Observations on Mr Thelwall&Apos;S Letter to the Editor of the Edinburgh Review

Title: Observations on Mr Thelwall&Apos;S Letter to the Editor of the Edinburgh Review
Description: Edinburgh, D. Willison, 1804. Cloth. A response to John Thelwall's letter to the editor of the Edinburgh Review; a very scarce work. A very scarce work, rebound in a cloth binding with renewed end papers. John Thelwall (1764-1834) was a radical British political activist. Following the French Revolution, he held talks in London's radical societies and co-founded the London Corresponding Society. This volume concerns a letter he sent to Lord Francis Jeffrey, the editor of the Edinburgh Review. In this letter, Thelwall accuses Jeffrey of creating a confederacy to obstruct the success of one of his lectures. This work responds to Thelwall's letter in defence of Francis Jeffrey. Rebound in cloth with renewed end papers. Externally very smart, with just a faint mark to the front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned but generally clean, with just the odd mark. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
