Gottlob Schumann's study of Dr H. Gräfe's work on educational reform of German elementary schools with a history of the elementary school. It was intended as a handbook for teachers and school supervisors. Heinrich Gräfe or Graefe (1802-1868) was a headteacher and a professor of the science of education. After reorganizing the schools of Jena, he devoted himself to educational reform. He also wrote many textbooks and papers on educational subjects. In half calf bindings.
