She was a great philanthropist, spending the majority of her wealth on scholarships and endowments. With Charles Dickens she co-founded the Urania Cottage. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, with some marks and discolouration to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Crack to the rear joint.
