Collated, complete. Cellarius's maps include depictions of the interior of Africa, Egypt, Thrace, Italy and Mesopotamia. The work of Dutch-German cartographer and cosmographer Andreas Cellarius, best known for his 1660 major star atlas, 'Harmonia Macrocosmica&apos.With the inscriptions of John Fressman and M. Perkins, dated March 22nd 1827, to the recto of the title page.With the subtitle 'Designed for the use of schools, and of gentlemen who make the antient writers their delight or study', this is a charming visual guide to the geography of the ancient world. Rebound in half calf, with marbled paper covered boards, and endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Contemporary inscription to recto of title page. Internally, firmly bound.
