Description: London, Herbert Jenkins, 1970. First edition. Cloth. An invaluable reference guide to Coalport and Coalbrookdale porcelain for collectors, with colour plates. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, 10 further plates in colour, and over 200 photographs in black and white. Collated complete. Coalport in Shropshire was a centre of porcelain and pottery production between about 1795 and 1926. In this volume, Geoffrey Godden identifies the early, unmarked Coalport porcelains, and the products of the little-known partnership of Messrs. Anstice, Horton, and Thomas Rose. This is a very useful illustrated guide for readers who collect Coalport and Coalbrookdale porcelain. In publisher's original cloth binding, with original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart, with just a couple of small marks to the boards. Front hinge is tender, showing the webbing. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Dust wrapper is a little age toned, with chipping to the head of the spine; otherwise very smart. Very Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Very Good/Very Good.
