Short rhyming poem in Scottish slang, dedicated to a man names 'Ogilvie,' "An' a queerer auld body ye never did spy, / Had Sir Walter e'er met him he'd given him a name / Wad rivalled the Bailie's in annals o' fame. / About five feet in heicht, geylies sair bent wi' years. / His jovial face was a stranger to tears; / An honest Scots smile was aye on it seen, / An' a kind nature twinkled in twa wee blue een." (from the first few lines). Written by a 'J. A. A.'A very scarce work, dated from a census from 1903-4 listing the publisher John A. Anderson at 68 South Woodside Rd, Glasgow. Not seen on the market nor found in any institutional library. Illustrated with a portrait by 'H J D' dated '86. Inscribed to verso title page by a previous owner, 'E. Archibald Glenmaye.'
