A lovely work regarding the architecture of Southern France, and its influence from the Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans. Written from the author's personal journey through the country. Theodore Andrea Cook was a British art critic and writer who travelled extensively throughout Europe, documenting the art and architecture. The half title pages are present. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear to the edges. Spines are slightly darkened. Marks to the rear board of volume two. Internally, binding slightly strained towards the centre but still firm. Pages lightly age-toned to the edges but otherwise very bright and clean with only the odd handling mark.
