Collated complete. A fascinating guide to the birds of the Nile Valley in Egypt. Written by Mary Cecil, the 2nd Baroness Amherst of Hackney. Cecil was a British amateur archaeologist and ornithologist. She is best known for excavating the Tombs of the Nobles in Egypt, which were then referred to as the 'Cecil Tombs&apos. The half title page is present, alongside two pages of advertisements to the rear of the book. With the previous owner's neat gift inscription to the front blank, dated 1904. In the publisher's pictorial cloth binding. Externally, a trifle rubbed with some staining to the boards. Shelf wear to the edges and darkening to the spine. Marks to the upper paste-downs. Some offsetting and marks to the free endpapers. Internally, binding slightly strained but still firm. Pages lightly age-toned to the edges but otherwise bright and clear. Light offsetting to the title page, caused by the frontispiece. Previous owner's ink inscription to the front blank. The occasional small mark throughout.
