The folk tale of Baba Yaga retold by Rose Brua Celli (1895-1982). Baba Yaga is a supernatural being, usually in the form of an old woman, from Slavic folklore. Rose Brua Celli was a French author and translator, best known as an author of children's stories. She was one of the founders of the Père Castor collection published by Flammarion, which includes this book. This story, and other children's stories in the Père Castor collection, were illustrated by Nathalie Parain (1897-1958), who was a Russian illustrator in the Russian Constructivist spirit.
