In the summer of 1941, Michael Bratby gave a series of six broadcasts on Icelandic birds, created for British soldiers who were stationed in Iceland and who might be interested in the local wildlife. The broadcasts proved popular, and this book was created in order to showcase the information to the rest of the British public. With a foreword by Major General H. O. Curtis, who commanded the 49th West Riding Infantry Division during the Occupation of Iceland. In the original paper wraps. Externally, very smart with some shelf wear to the edges. Panels are age-toned. Closed tear to the upper front panel. Some marks to the panels. Internally, firmly bound.
