In the original quarter cloth binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, rubbed. Cracks to the joints of Volume I resulting in the backstrip lifting. Spine labels are a little cracked and discoloured with a couple of small chips. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Some marks to the boards and spines. Cloth is a little discoloured. Front joint of Volume I are starting, rear joint is a little strained, front hinge of Volume I is a little weak. Hinges of Volumes II and III are starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper of Volume II and III. Internally, binding is a little strained in places in Volume I, Volumes II and III are firmly bound. Pages are a little age-toned with some spots. Puncture marks to the gutters. Folding map frontispiece of Volume I is reinforced to the reverse, with one small closed tear not repaired. The other folding maps and folding plates in the three volumes with small reinforcements to the reverse and a couple of small closed tears. Prior owner's ink inscription to the reverse of the title page of Volume I. Coat of arms label to the reverse of the 'To the reader' leaf of Volume I. Tape reinforcement to the gutter between pages 2 and 3 of Volume I. Page 11/12 of Volume detached but present. Good Only . Ill.: Not Stated. Good Only .
