It is set in a dystopia like his famous work Brave New World. It is largely a satire of the rise of large-scale warfare and warmongering in the 20th century, and presents a pessimistic view of the politics of mutually assured destruction. The book makes use of surreal imagery, depicting humans as apes who will inevitably kill themselves. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in lovely condition, though there are faint marks to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for a couple of marks to the front free end paper. Dust wrapper is chipped to the extremities, with small closed tears to the folds, the spine and the front and rear of the wrap. A little wear to the joints and a couple of faint stains to the rear of the wrap and front flap. Near Fine . Ill.: None. Near Fine/Very Good.
