Falconer with Mr Gray Hills Kind regards&apos.Illustrated with sixty-eight full page and vignette illustrations and photographs, including a frontispiece and folding map. Collated, complete.Gray Hill was a distinguished Liverpool solicitor who, alongside his wife, made a number of annual trips to Jordan, Palestine and Syria. This work is the record of three of these trips, made in 1888, 1889 and 1890. The majority of the narrative deals with the living conditions and culture of the Bedouin tribes of the region, with a fourth and final section devoted to the folklore and oral traditions of the nomadic tribespeople. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, resulting in losses to cloth in these regions. Hinges strained, with boards holding firm. Inscription to half title. Internally, lightly strained throughout, with frontispiece detached but present. Spotting and instances of light foxing throughout, most concentrated to first and last few leaves. Good .
